Edgewood/Candler Park Station TOD

In 2014 MARTA, in partnership with Invest Atlanta, selected Columbia Ventures as their development partner for the Edgewood/Candler Park Station transit oriented development (TOD). The project will be located on 6.4 acres of underutilized surface parking on the south side of the Edgewood/Candler Park Station. This site is located in the historic Edgewood neighborhood in the City of Atlanta. This project is part of MARTA's broader TOD initiative, the goals of which are to increase ridership, generate revenue and support both local community development and regional economic development. 

Columbia Venture's vision builds on the consensus achieved by the Edgewood community over the last decade to leverage the MARTA station redevelopment as an opportunity to create an urban mixed-use node within the neighborhood. The project will create an iconic gathering place that will enhance the identity of Edgewood. The project will be constructed over two phases, the first of which will include apartments, cultural space and street-level commercial space which will activate the urban greenspace at the heart of the project.

This dense urban node will be effectively woven into the fabric of the surrounding neighborhood by providing permeability in several locations through ample sidewalks and connections to exisiting streets.
