WHAT WE DO
Everything we do at coUrbanize revolves around a singular mission – improving the real estate development process so our customers can build better neighborhoods.
We started by solving one of the biggest challenges that real estate and planning teams face today, community engagement. coUrbanize gives people a way to share their feedback without going to a public meeting and in their native language – by posting a comment online, texting their feedback, or leaving comments via voicemail.
HOW IT STARTED
I’m a city planner by trade. Like most planners, I wanted to impact change in our communities because the zip code you’re born in is one of the strongest predictors of your economic opportunities. When I was getting my Master’s in planning at MIT, I looked at who creates enormous change relatively quickly in communities. The answer? Real estate. Particularly, commercial real estate.
If I could change how developers work and what they decide to build, that would fundamentally change the built environment in communities everywhere.
This vision is still the lighthouse for our company – it’s what drives decisions, inspires our team, and energizes our customers.

OUR VALUES
We are mission-driven.
Helping to build better neighborhoods drives everything we do.
We are relentless.
We go above and beyond to build the company, together.
We iterate.
In order to get it right, we may need to get it wrong first and that’s okay.
We instill confidence.
We show up for our customers, community members, and each other.
We inspire impact.
We give people the access needed to shape the future of their community.
WE’RE HIRING!
We want to build a team as diverse as the communities that use our platform. To do that, we are rethinking how we hire. That means you won’t see degree requirements in our job postings. You may not even see desired years of experience. And you don’t have to be based in Boston (we’re 100% remote for now). We encourage people who don’t fit the stereotypical startup employee mold to apply. We want people with different identities and life experiences to work here.
Here are the positions we’re looking to fill now. But don’t let that stop you from telling us your story, what you want to do and why you want to work at coUrbanize. Email us at jobs@courbanize.com.
What it’s like to work here, according to the people who do.
coUrbanize has the usual startup benefits – generous vacation, (virtual) happy hours, flexible schedules, to name a few – but that’s not why most people work here.
