The challenge:
Building Support for Affordable Housing for At-Risk Seniors
Few states have a stronger need for affordable housing than California does. This need is even more urgent in Los Angeles county where the average cost of housing tips the scale at nearly six times the national average.
In late 2018, Mercy Housing, one of the nation’s largest affordable housing organizations, unveiled plans to help close this gap for one of the community’s most at-risk populations with Burbank Boulevard Senior Housing, a 54-unit affordable housing development in Sherman Oaks, California for seniors who have experienced homelessness.
